Share XProtect Video Securely with Anyone Traditionally, sharing video from Milestone XProtect with external users has required VPN access or network configuration that exposes the XProtect Mobile Server or other video infrastructure. For temporary video sharing, this can be time-consuming to configure and may not be permitted by company security policies. RemoteWitness provides a simpler approach. Instead of allowing external users to connect inbound to the XProtect system, the RemoteWitness Agent sends only the live or recorded video selected by the operator to a secure cloud relay hosted in Finland. The external viewer receives a temporary link and watches the shared video directly in a standard web browser. No inbound firewall rules, VPN access or XProtect user account are required. The RemoteWitness Agent only needs an outbound network connection to the RemoteWitness cloud service.
