Architecture
Deployment models, system topology and availability features.
LenelS2 OnGuard uses a scalable client-server architecture designed for enterprise access control and security management environments. The platform supports centralized and distributed deployments, allowing access control controllers, communication services and operator workstations to operate across multiple buildings, sites and geographical locations. OnGuard supports high-availability architectures using redundant infrastructure and supported failover configurations. Availability and recovery capabilities depend on the installed software version, licensed features and underlying server and database infrastructure. Traditional OnGuard is primarily deployed on-premises. Cloud-hosted and hybrid deployment options may be available through supported infrastructure and connected services, while OnGuard Cloud is offered as a separate cloud-hosted solution. Enterprise-wide management capabilities should not automatically be interpreted as native federation between independent OnGuard installations. Such functionality requires verification against the relevant software edition and architecture.
On-premises
SupportedLenelS2 OnGuard is primarily installed on customer‑owned servers in a data‑center or on‑site environment.
SourceCloud
PartialLenelS2 offers OnGuard Cloud, a SaaS version of the platform hosted by the manufacturer.
SourceHybrid
PartialLenelS2 mentions cloud‑and‑hybrid security solutions, indicating support for hybrid deployment models.
SourceDistributed
SupportedOnGuard can be deployed across multiple servers and sites, allowing distributed installations for large enterprises.
SourceFederation
PartialConnect and manage multiple independent systems.
Redundancy
SupportedHigh‑availability configurations provide redundant servers and database clustering to ensure continuous operation.
